We have a tempest water cylinder and are having problems with the hot water. We have to keep topping up the pressure and get hot water for a couple of days then it goes again. Central heating fine and oil fired boiler ok.

HI Cath You do not mention whether you have a problem with the pressure of the hot water or the system losing pressure. It should like you have a problem with the water pressure in the primary circuit. This is the 'central heating' pressure which is topped up via the filling loop. This problem should be checked by a central heating engineer, as it could be a faulty expansion valve causing the trouble, but it may just be the expansion vessel needing to be charged Marked as spam
